How to determine the copying ratio?

First of all, you must know the contract size of the symbol both in MT4 account and IB account. For example, contract size(1 lot) in MT4 for Forex is 100,000. And contract size(1 lot) for Forex Cash In IB account is just 1.

Secondly, for 1 lot in MT4, culculate the lots that you need to be sent to IB account. That’s the copying ratio.

Examples:
i. Copying EURUSD for same value.

EURUSD Contract size(1 lot) in MT4 is 100,000.
EUR.USD Contract size(1 lot) in IB is 1.
You can calculate the copying ratio is 100,000;

2. Copying Gold for triple value.

XAUUSD Contract size(1 lot) in MT4 is 100.
XAUUSD Contract size(1 lot) in IB is 1.
You can calculate the copying ratio is 300;
